Group Discussions – May 25 2016 Part 2

Tharanath added Shambhu Shankar:Welcome Mr. Shambhu Shankar, resource person, assistant teacher, Govt Highschool, Gerukatte, Belthangady taluk, D.K district.
Shambhu Shankar: Thank you very much for adding me to this enlightened group.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Sir, under arts section only 42% pass, science and commerce around 67%

Girish Mudigere: Nice inputs……we should work on this to utilize available opportunity: To attract more viewers to their media…….Gender related comparison is made even in results…..percentage of passing etc……this appears unhealthy : Male and female are not opposite …they are supportive each other within civilized society’s framework Alva?

Linnet D Silva: Within democratic framework they are supposed to be equal!! In reality they are far from it. So giving such importance is needed till the real equity is achieved: Coming back to develop schools, any new insights arrived at??

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Girishji even I agree with u regarding male female percentage. But to see the changes under going in society we need to know it. But still girl child is deprived from studies. At least some parents may wake up send their children

Girish Mudigere: I fully support Chaya Ji …..unfortunately comparison just divides society further : Each gender is made for a purpose : Thay are never equal…..but both are important : See my comments please ……I never said they are equal: I said they are supportive to each other : With gender comparison we are dividing society further……divorces in USA as well India increasing: Let’s discourage Media gender related discussions : Lets spread positivity through schools: Both should complement each other than discriminating

Tharanath: Yes. Comparison makes all the difference. It divides community, and ultimately the home on the basis of home(Sorry, on the basis of gender)

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Really. But it should start from home. The day lady can walk on the street midnight is a correct target for anyone. I take my son and go out in night. It is totally unsafe

Jayalaxmi Gowda: But the discussion should be both should be given equal opportunities : Whether boy or a girl, opportunities should be equal

Chaya Chandra Acharya: S madam . equal opportunity can be given if their is equality. That is women also should be allowed to go in midnight alone like men.

Girish Mudigere: We are mixing things….sorry: All above are separate topics: We are discussing on media about results

Jayalaxmi Gowda: Girls in most part of the country and most part of the under developed country, are considered to be a home maker.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Sorry, I mixed it.

Girish Mudigere: Equallity is different topic…….our focus is different : Lets focus on improvement of schools

Milind M Raichur: Madam sorry to interrupt …but nowadays its unsafe for gentlemens too in Karnataka as I know…so there is no women or men going out at midnight : Equality established by our Govt. itself😃

Jayalaxmi Gowda: Yes equality is different and equal opportunities is different : Both may be made for different purposes as Girish mentione: But equal opportunities must exist irrespective

Milind M Raichur: Ya I agree to jaya madam & Girish sir both are totally different issues

Jayalaxmi Gowda: Also it doesn’t mean she is limited to kitchen and bearing children just because she is made for that purpose

Chaya Chandra Acharya: I think now a days it is changing. Media is hyping it

Jayalaxmi Gowda: Not sure what media is hyping it. But women in most of the underworld countries are deprived of opportunities and identity

Milind M Raichur: As per our training teams experience on the results is girls are more studious n opt for courses on the basis of their confidence in completing it successfully but where as boys are opting courses by parental pressure for better careers irrespective of their intrests & confidence ….its just do it for them as per our recent feedback by students.

Yogish: Powerful women leaders ruled India from the beginning including PM to president. Now north to south and east to west we have woman CM’s: Look at J&K in north. Gujarath in West . West Bengal in East and Tamil Nadu in south.

Jayalaxmi Gowda: There are so many circumstantial things that varies from one another: The core quality to consider girl/women as their equal counterpart should be thought at school levels

Girish Mudigere: Whether woman or man cm or pm is not important ….whether human? Our schools improvement is lost!!! We focus so much on gender…..our schools Improvement stalls

Milind M Raichur: Though political discussion is not appropriate here but sorry Girish sir I would like to mention about Modijis Beti Bachao Beti padhao & recent announcement from Tamil nadu CM of gold gift for girls who complete their graduation: ESP. Central scheme is wonderful if implemented across the country properly by the system: Girish sir I rest my gender discussion here

Jayalaxmi Gowda: If the programs as such are mentioned than there is a reason why they were put in place.. Result show girls are deprived of opportunities and hence to encourage girl/women these programs are in place is what I believe

Girish Mudigere: Media wants more contravening issues : Thanks milind sir

Renni D’souza: Gender equality is Social Justice issue our education system completely failed in this matter If we focus this issue from the primary school itself we can address this issue successfully

Girish Mudigere: We focus so much on gender…..our schools Improvement fails

Yogish: Why did we bring gender issue in this group? Let’s focus on schools

Linnet D Silva: They have constructed all disparity : So in education gender equity and justice is key for reconstruction.

Girish Mudigere: Media wants money, politicians wants votes…..our government schools suffer: I brought up gender highlights even in results …..it went to politics : Gender equality or equal opportunities is not our cup of tea : We are all victims of media, politics

We lose our focus

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Girishji u r correctly expressing u r concern. I totally agree with u. What to do every thing is controlled, monitored, handled, spoiled by government before we realise what is happening

Girish Mudigere: Lets not get diverted…..lets focus on government schools : Lets treat kids as God’s/ Superpowers And improve anganavadis

Jayalaxmi Gowda: We should also teach kids at a very early stage that she is an equal counterpart of he. Only then equality will be achieved along with providing equal opportunities to girls either through enforcement or enlightment : It should all be done at schools : And upbringing of the kids

Girish Mudigere: : Gender equality or equal opportunities is not our cup of tea : Lets not get diverted…..lets focus on government schools : Our government schools cannot be shown to developed countries: Lets focus on improving them

Jayalaxmi Gowda: Concentrating on one and ignoring the others would not bring the balance. Everything should be approached simultaneously. But I do know this group is limited to school development only and yes let’s focus on that

Renni D’souza: There are lot of gender baised models, stories, pictures, sentence, leaders in text books itself Only gender sensitive teacher wil understand this issue We have to address this issue

Girish Mudigere: Lets first focus on drinking water breakfast and decent building on priority in government schools

Renni D’souza: Yes We have to priorities first Simontanisly we have to work for core values

Girish Mudigere: Lets try solutions ……kids irrespective of gender are falling down without breakfast

Yogish: PU results announced. DK first and Udupi second. Girls with 64.78% pass outperform boys with 50.02%. Private colleges Mahesh, Expert and Vikas showed outstanding results : Kodagu and Uttar Kannda stood third and fourth respectively. Yadgir is last with 44.16%

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Yogishji from this topic only gender discussion started

Yogish: Oh, I am sorry: Let’s ignore my message. Just look in to the overall results : Let’s not continue my thread

Girish Mudigere: We copy media…..hahaha

Harshiya Bhanu: Ee baariyuuu baalakiyaradde melugai

Yogish: Expert PU college secured 99.53 %. Vikas PU college – 97.73%. Mahesh PU college -85% : Parents are sending their children to private schools and colleges mainly for above 👆 reason. Let’s bring these performances in govt schools too

Prashanth: Appreciated

Girish Mudigere: Lets first focus on improving existing things……students should read write clearly ……let’s focus on not passed 52% : At least 50% not able to pass………lets improve them

Yogish: Girish, I would focus first on 10 schools to bring Expert college performance. Then use the same models to 50000 govt schools.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Super sir, please we all try this.

Girish Mudigere: Lets have group targets……the above is awesome

Yogish: Let’s select those 10 schools first. Then increase the teaching staff, give training to teachers, clean drinking water, nutrition, computer facilities and training to teachers, projectors, buildings, playground etc:Very first is selecting the school. Next is to increase the teaching staff and training to teachers. Let’s start immediately after June 4. After tree planting event.

Girish Mudigere: We have excellent professors here…….excellent teachers are more than adequate: Lets target few
