Chaya Chandra Acharya: I was with 25 govt school children , classes ranging from 3rd to 9th, about 20 english words to teach, which are elementary level , I gave 3 rounds of test, finally 20 children could read and write (dictation) my 25 words. Marathon 4 hours

Saif Sarwari: Let’s pool together our talents and then decide WHAT can be provided WHERE, WHEN’ and HOW : We live miles apart from one another so DISTANCE is surely a constraint.

Yogish: We have listed these 10 schools earlier. I am reposting this. Expecting respective teachers to provide feedback or comments if I miss anything. We can finalize the list once Girish is in Bangalore

These are our current 10 schools in focus

Let’s start collecting the requirements from these schools and connect NGO’s . We have contact numbers and address of these schools. Also understand that following are main requirements

1. Staff shortage2. Clean drinking water,3. Toilets for boys and girls separately ,4. Electricity at least during school hours ,5. Computer lab. At least 5 computers to start with,6. Projector,7. Internet and wifi,8. Good play ground with compound walls,9. Plenty of trees are required – immediately we can meet this reqs for sure. ,10. Building may be old. Upgrade the buildings and add more rooms ,11. Morning breakfast if possible ,through local NGO’s or SDMC

12. Quality of teaching with proper training to teachers,13. English speaking classes and extra math classes

14. Reduce the burden of teachers and HM’s of data entry of daily activities with the help of program

15. Free books, uniforms and stationaries for each student.

Please list if I missed anything. Respective teachers, please start actively working with us to find the solution with NGO’s or CSR’s

Most of these facility related requirements can be provided through our NGO’s and CSR’s.

Linnet D Silva: My school sriramnagar lacks :Electricity ,Computers ,Drinking water ,Science lab .Last year I managed to build toilets with enough water storage and plates washing. This year going to do the flooring of Nalikali class.

Luckily with our struggle on Monday New teacher will be joining.

Girish Mudigere: I did, I am v happy…..we have good work to do

Linnet D Silva: It’s in Dharwad.Little angels of class 1 and 2 daily sit entire day on this floor. This year for class one there are 26 children and class two 20.Few years back Dharmastala had given 5 benches and last year I provided 5. All the other classes sit on the floor.

Nagesh TK: Why Mam govt didn’t take care of this floor?

Linnet D Silva: We had a very bad no wicked Head teacher luckily she got retired on 31 May

SC Nagesh TK: But what about that yearly amount? Our school top was leaking so now we used the govt given amount for repare that

Linnet D Silva: Last year I managed to take the children to mysore for trip. All with donors contribution. Even in mysore we had friends who offered free food. Hence saved 8000. With that bought teachers desks. The ones you see in the desk is one of that. Sdmc is now empowered. So ready to fight for that. Accounts of the school is not in order.

Nagesh TK: Every year govt giving 32000 we can keep floor in good condition but what happened in your school

Linnet D Silva: They were selling the milk also beside taking for themselves. Last year its controlled.

Girish Mudigere: Excellent inputs

Linnet D Silva: I have given a teacher as there are no sufficient teachers in this school : Three rooms are bad and the veranda. This is the class 7 Kannada medium child from govt school this evening read. Really nice to see lots of change in children inspire of hurdles inspite.

Saif Sarwari: It is said that ‘A nation cannot rise above the level of its teachers!’ How bad it is to see such abysmal plight of schools…. the sources of knowledge!
