Rajesh: Above is an unconfirmed forward!!!
Kalgudi Naveen:
Kollegala Sharma:
Kollegala Sharma: I was just thinking of going back in time and use slate as cards. Just for letters. If it has two surfaces, words can also be written and just turned around to teach. Great tool. While the teacher shows one letter to the entire class, she/he can also write words on the other side. Pics depend on the teacher’s creativity. One slate, many uses. What do you say?
Nagesh TK:
Kiran: Excellent Sharma Sir, now you have mastered the art of changing the background and music.. keep it up.. now you have to just move the subject. 🙂
Yogish: I did not have a chance to see Sharma sir’s creative work
Kiran, can we get the drawings of above 2 caricatures without holding anything with 3 to 4 actions. Moving legs, moving arms, nodding head, jumping, sitting, closing eyes, lips etc.?
To make them speak or Sing? Nice 👍🏽 idea will suggest
Yogish: Yes, to make them speak and moving their eye balls while speaking or moving their arm etc
Kiran: Now you can join Pixar .Have you checked Pixar in a box on KhanAcademy ? If not pl do it
Yogish: No I didn’t look in to Pixar . This weekend I M planning for home automation project with temperature sensor, motion sensor and security camera with raspberry Pi
Kollegala Sharma: Yes. Tried. Propellers fell off the heli as it moved up n far away. Have to fix that.😀
Yogish: How do you view the scratch animation in iPhone as there is no flash support?
I did this with heli. Duplicated only the moving portions by deleting others. Saved as costumes. Positioned the blades differently. Used hide and show commands for movement. Fast commands make it appear rotating.
Yogish: Ok. I just installed puffin browser that support flash in iPhone. Now I can view animation using that browser. Looks like Sharma sir is on surgical operation with his chopper 😄
How do I retain the scratch code while deleting the scratches. Basically I wanted to delete the characters, but I want to retain only the codes that is written for existing sprite and check or swap with another sprite
Sharma: Yes. I faced that problem too. The codes for one scratch cant be copied and applied to another.
Kiran: Object Action.. Object oriented to the core 😉
Yogish: Watching Pixar in a box now
Hemanth Sharma: Can’t we raise it as bug report in mit site? What we want must be performed by application
Kiran: What bug?
Hemanth Sharma: Not able to copy scratch code for other other scratch application
Hemanth Sharma: This is the issue discussed above
MCE Kiran: It is a feature of Object
Kiran: Similar to dropping of a table in RDBMS
Yogish: It is very helpful if we able to retain the code while swapping or deleting the sprite. We can duplicate the codes for the multiple sprites with different kind of actions
Kiran: There is clone/duplicate option is available. Already
Yogish: While deleting the sprite the code associated with that sprite is also gone. How do we avoid this? I want to retain the code while deleting the sprite
Hemanth Sharma: It duplicates but remains in the same scratch
Paramesha: nice question
Kiran: Guru, Google Baba has answers to most of our questions.. see this discussion https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/19503/
Paramesha: but for us you are like Google 🙂
Kiran: Hemant , please try and let us know if this works
Yogish: Can we write functions or subroutines in scratch and use it whenever required. This will improve the productivity. As you suggested I will search in Google too.
Kollegala Sharma: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/124213698/ Made slight correction. Not perfect, but am happy. Press spacebar to see the heli flying.
Kiran: Yogish please refer to the source code of Pacman for scratch project which is available on Raspberry Pi installation. That will give lots of ideas about Scratch programming.
Gururaj Paramesha: All of you are doing very well I am jealous of Yogishji, Sharmaji and Hemantji
Kollegala Sharma: Are you serious? I thought my effort was kidstuff. Nooby.
Kiran: Guru take this as motivation and come up to speed 🙂
Sharma: Let me confess. I didn’t look at any tutorials or samples. Just thought of how it might work and tried. This method surely affects productivity. But I scratch while watching TV. So no waste of time😀
Paramesha: Kiran Sir multiple things…need to balance all…
Kollegala Sharma: Cat plays football. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/124231478/ Comments please.
Hemanth Sharma: Just checked, it works, Dhanvin already know that. I just asked him and he showed me Ball gone to space!…it is nice but to learn it is better to improve any one of scratch with more features than making new every time
Kollegala Sharma: I also checked. It helps to cut and replace sprites
Yes Hemanth. You are right. But I am trying to understand different commands.
Kiran: Sharma Sir, when are you going to show your magical creations to school children and share us their reaction.. 🙂
Kollegala Sharma: Soon
Yogish: How do I bring the Sprite back to center screen that is disappeared when I execute the program? For example Sprite flys from left to right of the screen as per your code and then disappears. Don’t know how to bring back to edit or restart the program from its original location
