Linnet D Silva: Teacher as an enabler is a good way of looking.

Kollegala Sharma: I met a 8th standard student today who cant even write his full name, or identify any Kannada alphabet! He says reading /writing gets ‘devva’ on him. So dropped out but briught back again to school by teachers. He is not averse to school. Only for studies. Teachers are kind and good. Yet he fears letters. Dr. Sandeep. We need advice on handling such children. This is second case for me.
Guru Poornima: Sharma Sir , is this fear of learning or Teachers??
Krishnamurthy: Such student’s need special attention & care and hence better they are admitted to such schools where they get better care and hopes of improvement, In normal schools I fear they get into rather worst situation even though some teacher’s give sympathetic care
GI RaviRaj: May be both
Guru Poornima: Fear of partucular subjects too possible. May be the impact of many aspects
Hemanth Sharma: Yes will come back on actual topic soon,Dyslexia?
I am saying this because he was too long in the school and if he is still fearing for single then specialist need to be consulted.
8 Yogish: May be something similar to Hindi movie Taare Zameen par ?
Krishnamurthy: My understanding on Dyslexia is writing alternative alphabet / words for similar looking ones For ex writing 6 for 9 is usual for them
Yogish: I think that boy need personal attention with lots of love from teachers and friends.
Chaya Chandra Acharya: Very true.
Kollegala Sharma: Yes. I will be visiting the schools again and will follow up. Dont know economic or social contexts. Earlier I had come across two girls with similar ‘devvas’. But a boy is unusual.
: All kids seem to love him. When I asked about the best singer in the class, they were unanimous in pointing at him. He did sing fluently, without any linguistic problems. So, language is fine. Lexic and numeric abilities are a problem and are feared.
Ashok: ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆ. ..
