Satish Kadashettihalli: Nowadays government schools are facing shotsge of teachers. It is not necessary to start lkg and ukg classes in schools. We have to strengthen anganavadies.

Girish Mudigere: Samaana shikshana Andre…..specific meaning idya sir

Renni D’souza: This just like common school system. BUT we need lot clarity Because. There are many issues like language. Medium, curriculam, Budgeting, region etc we need lot of consensus throughout India But abolish present discriminative education we need strong public education system which is support our Constitution

Guru Poornima:

ಒಕೆ that we start with school, children,parents and teacher. I think now we are discussing one of the root cause of problems of education

Guru Poornima: Our objective is the same for which are all striving.,quality and knowledge based education, without any discrimination in any field.

Gururaj Paramesha: until we bring reforms in election this will be difficult task for all of us.. we need to educate our youngsters about Democracy. Everyone should participate in all the election process and choose right candidate. Everything is interlinked

Renni D’souza: I think now we are discussing one of the root cause of problems of education

Sri Harsha: There hasn’t been any discussions on the categories and problems we can work on wrt basic needs. Please discuss the same today throughout or let us know if you think we can close that topic discuss something else. We thought many would be busy yesterday and would need some time to think so we are just hoping for more inputs on basic necessities to kids. the same topic we discussed yesterday. We think the no of inputs could be more if we discuss the same today

1. Water 2. Clean water – filter 3. Glass 4. Filter refills to schools where that is misding 5. Water storage for toilets and midday lunch 6. Notebooks 7. Geometry box for high schools 8. Sanitary napkins / A small cupboard to keep ( male HMs hesitate to keep and issue. There are very few schools with lady HMs… or am I wrong?) 9. Magazines other than Balavijnana 10. English storybooks and weekend reading sessions by volunteers.

Anything else than this ??

Chaya Chandra Acharya: 1. My school has basic amenities like water, toilet etc. 2. I provided them bench, chair etc under CSR . 3. Holidays I have taken all my quarter children to orphanage and making them to teach English and maths and in turn those children r teaching chapati making, cooking. So I feel need of an hour is teaching, teaching , teaching . I can help schools who want basic amenities if it is in Bangalore urban, rural if they r ready to take the items. But we can’t do everything at a stretch. That is planting of tree and teaching. But planting of tree is to be done , I think my husband view is to be taken for that

Sri Harsha: Thank you Chaya madam..

There are two things here 1. What does your school need? 2. What does most of the government schools need? Your inputs are quiet interesting and answers the first question..since the aim of the group is to see what most of the schools need..we would also need inputs from teachers like you on point no 2.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: I know two organization who is helping schools with chair, table, notebook. They just has to give request in their school letter head but only in English ( because the bank has north Indian) . the bank has selected some vendors who supply chair and table but not to all the places. For places u have to visit www.canfinhomes.com site , which has branches in Karnataka, let us see what to do for other places, my uncle is MD in one solar project company who also allocate some fund under CSR. I can really help. When I went for discussion on Monday, they r ready to provide UPS and smart board. I am only worried, pls identify right school I will help

Sri Harsha: teachers and volunteers who know the schools that really need electricity please msg IN Person or Team..in the group we will only identify problems for now..

Sri Harsha: That’s wonderful to hear chaya mam..we electricity was one of the points in our list..we can look at schools that need really need this..I will come back to you again during implementation of this solution.

Guru Poornima: What about the sports equipments in Government schools, Indoor and outdoor aswell

As specially rural children are very fit for physical activities. Because sports and recreation are the basic requirements for children I felt. Harsha I think food is available and proper arrangements are not made I think.

Girish Mudigere: We shall look at consumables and non-consumables

Linnet D Silva: Flooring of classrooms where children squat needs cementing. Specially nalikali students

Serving food arrangements are quite uncomfortable in many schools. Separate classrooms for each class. Library

Kollegala Sharma: Sports good point

Sri Harsha: Linnet mam: serving available food sounds good ..we can work on it..library also..

Linnet D Silva: Serving food in Sun and rain. In unhygienic situation.

Guru Poornima: We have focus mainly on hygiene point: Serving equipments are not properly cleaned and related aspects. Basic discipline should be guided for the concerned people. Uniforms are there for all govt schools right?

Linnet D Silva: Fans in hot places like north Karnataka. Radio.

Guru Poornima: Linnet madam pl let me know about the uniforms

Linnet D Silva: Government provides. It’s good. Only not arriving on time

Guru Poornima: OK, but maintenance of the same is also very impt

Guru Poornima: This is where children are lacking I feel

Linnet D Silva: Stationary not provided. Class room stationary too.

Kollegala Sharma: As regards food, students upto high school are fortunate. But urban govt PU students are really in need of food.

Linnet D Silva: Teachers plus school parliaments can help. But most schools do not have parliament.

Milind M Raichur: Nice Garden. I feel this also is necessary thing for school children ….Introduction to Agriculture & Gardening classes by which farmers kids who are running away to cities after ample salary jobs may be Re connected to the Divine profession along with new interested rookies joining. Please excuse me if its already discussed earlier.

Linnet D Silva: That’s too. But girls are given ration in anganwadi. That’s too far

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Nageshji manassu madisuvudhe thumbs kashta:

I am very happy to see th discussion abt quality in Govt schools. As per my knwdge our quality is better thn private. But our infrastructure(building) etc are in poor quality. Already discussed abt th students dont kw hw to write his name who is in highschool. This is nt his fault. We r failed to give basic to him in 1st to 5th std. If anyone want to see quality in edn plz improve quality in lower primary. The child belongs to educated family always good in stud bcz they got basic in home also. If a child emerge with high quality frm lower primary thn afterwards he need only direction rather than teaching. These r my personal openion. sorry for my poor english. with regards yakub koyyur
