Kollegala Sharma Sir: For our efforts, please visit janabandi.wordpress.com.

Response by Hemantharaju: ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿಯೂ ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತು ತುಂಬ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದದು,ಸರ್

Teacher empowerment, ego involvement of teachers, solving their simple problems…ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ ಕ್ರಮಗಳೇ…

Ram Kumar: Excellent…..!

Gururaj Paramesha: Kollegala Sharma sir I have been to Vivekananda Center in HD Kote a model CBSE school which was developed by Vivekananda Youth Movement, personally I know Dr.Balu sir who is one of the founder member of Vivekananda youth movement. Its a school for poor community

Kollegala Sharma: I am also involved with SVYM and their education program very closely. Whatever I have presented here have a link to that.

Akhila Vidyasandra: In Bangalore meeting we have discussed about approaching the Local governance to strengthen the schools. And also to develop a good rapport with SDMC once the schools reopen,

We have to approach the woman folks around schools to spend 2 hours a week with the nearby school children and teach, facilitate any subject/s they are good, dance, music, crafts, sports etc. ,

Girish Mudigere: Good people from both genders …..above is a good action point

Akhila Vidyasandra: Yes Girish, but my focus was on home makers, who can extract 2 hours from their schedule.

Akhila Vidyasandra: If anyone is interested please approach the ht of the school and ask them to keep few periods for us, as they will be preparing / prepared (?) the timetable for the next year.

Girish Mudigere: All above three points are excellent ….can be adopted all over Karnataka and beyond

Few NGOs may execute above handling of free classes. We connect NGOs and schools

Kollegala Sharma: Home makers idea is good.

Kollegala Sharma: Home makers will work in urban govt schools.

A few other issues to be smooothened before taking up this connecting act is to see that classes have some free periods regularly. My experience is that free periods are there but very irregular due to either shortage or unexpected absence if teachers. This would dissuade volunteers. Planning and cooperation from school has to be strong.

Girish Mudigere: Do anyone know about NGOs who do only teaching

We have Prashant team, Sathish team, Mahesh team, in our group

Dyavanoor Pratistana, Harish’s Aramba Trust

Amrutha Bindu, Aviratha, Mathrubhoomi, Dyavanoor pratistana and Aarambha Trust NGO ….Agasthya Foundation, Vishwamamava foundation ….Bhimanagouda sir, Minchu IDEAS Rajajinagar, Jnana Sindhu Swamy Signa Yuva Samvada Kendra. Tumakuru

Few more NGOs

Girish Mudigere: Above issues sure NGOs if focus…..our NMMO succeed in making time energy more fruitful for schools and volunteers through NGOs

Gururaj Paramesha: Aashayein Foundation founded by BOSCH Young IT employees have adopted 5 government schools in Karnataka. They are also into teaching. I have worked with them earlier

Girish Mudigere: Our teams important task now to search such NGOs during vacation period

Manoj Scientist: Signa Yuva Samvada Kendra. Tumakuru SIGNA Student Ideal And Guide for Nature Awareness…

Harish Kumar: Hi everyone, Good Going on…. Am happy to say this. Really good discussion and good team we r made. Am not attend the first event. Bec. Am out of station and next event all r when arranged please inform me. Thank you Regards, Harish Kumar A – Aarambha Trust ®

Akhila Vidyasandra: There is an organization in Bangalore, its called Minchu IDEAS, ( I was one of the founder, but now I am out of it. ) in which the women were involved with the local schools in the above mentioned way.

Kollegala Sharma: So many teaching 8, 9, 10..

Are they volunteers? Or teachers? Sorry for asking this question. One of the issues we need to be deeply concerned is how the lessons are delivered. For those who are not in regular teaching, sometimes it will be difficult to engage entire class. I would be happy if those problems are also discussed.

Akhila Vidyasandra: I agree, but in small schools of bangalore, very few pupils will be there in a class, if you are good with children then you can manage and the teachers will be there to help you. But please say no no to scoldings and sticks strictly.

Gururaj Paramesha: Good news to all… Karnataka State Textbook (KST) committee as approved to make all textbooks online, in future students can access the textbooks online both kannada and English version will be made available by June on www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in

But the major problem is 90% of the government schools doesn’t have access to computers and Internet…

Girish Mudigere: Lets try to fill the gap. There are Companies which may be ready to provide solutions. We have to find contacts

Prasanna: Itz definetly better to reserve some periods or week ends for interaction with students, teaching other than syllabus,(some times better methodologies can be introduced to teachers) technology. Last year karnataka education dept introduced new programme shalegge banni shanivara kaliyalu needi sahakara( ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿ ಶನಿವಾರ ಕಲಿಯಲು ನೀಡಿ ಸಹಕಾರ) Any villager (skilled with any life leading skills, professions ,music, dance, folk artist )

can come to School on Saturday teach students. To cover many Schools more volunteers needed. (if we get locally our students can spend more precious time with them)

Girish Mudigere: Our team should focus on charging NGOs to do above tasks through their available volunteers to increase too. Lets see available persons in each NGO. Lets not spend time in waiting for ideal time for all people. Lets start identifying NGOs

Chaya Chandra Acharya: This is what I suggested yesterday. We have to create a interactive question in our website so interested people can join as volunteers especially college students

Gururaj sir u can try scout and guide children as volunteers, we do not need qualified people, we need caring and loving people

Kollegala Sharma: @Chaya… Good idea. But for teaching college students might need a bit of training and preparation. Which means we have to plan very early.

Yogish: Govt should include community work starting from high schools similar to the system what we have here in USA.

Community work too is considered for grading along with other subjects and will help students to get in to university.

Girish Mudigere: Lets try with good hearted people available now. Lets move forward slowly but firmly

Kollegala Sharma: @Yogish. We had NSS. But, now it has stopped at one hour cleaning. Other aspects of CS are unknown here.

haya Chandra Acharya: Sir, teaching is an art, u start teaching u get idea and training by u r self. I have taken 8th std, 9th std children to teach 4th and 5th std children, it was very good. It is just fun

Kollegala Sharma: Yes. But some do need a bit of support. Informal training will help a great deal ( I used to be tongue tied before 3 people). Now, people send me slips to stop😀

Yogish: Yes I agree. Best way to learn any subject is to start teaching. I am now learning many things while creating website.

Kollegala Sharma: The best will be when we engage, entertain and educate with whatever resources on hand. That requires great involvement and effort. But highly satisfying.

M. B. Hulikere: Sir groupli olle jana eddare olle information sigtide

Yogish: Very good website janabandi.wordpress.com. Liked your icon. Did you create this site ?

Lokesh Alambuda:

Yogish: Of course English should be taught from 1st grade and make them very fluent when they reach 5th grade through some extra classes to build their confidence level when they are going to college.

Gururaj Paramesha: Yogish I have Malayalam education circular issued by kerala education department can you translate into English

I can motivate scouts guides rovers n rangers so that they can help us

Girish Mudigere: Silence prefered members….I will move to silent school group

Please donot mistake us. We don’t want more messages disturbing you. Kindly cooperate
