Group Discussions – April 14

Akhila Vidyasandra: Sorry, I was little busy, the girl is in state home. There’s an organisation called APSA in Blore, which is very good in upbringing the children with their full potential.

Akhila Vidyasandra: Good discussions. We need some computers, can anyone help me.

Girish Mudigere: Infosys gave five computers last time. Let’s try for needy schools this time too

Yogish: My daughter helped me to read this Tulu presentation . This is just part 1 of Tulu script learning
Hope it’s okay if I share information related to Tulu too. Tulu too is one of the old Dravidian language.
So far 2 videos are added in to develop schools YouTube channel. I will remove the first one because my voice quality was bad. I will re do another one soon.

Girish Mudigere: Lets encourage respective mother tongues too…..
Languages shouldn’t grow…..culture grows, humanity too…

Yogish: I encourage you to create videos like this in Kannada or English or any subject related like maths science etc both in kannada and English
Let’s start recording Kannada grammar video or math, science videos of our own instead of creating links to other videos

Girish Mudigere: Great input Chandrakant sir….if we bring breakfast to needy….and snacks we would get healthy citizens

Chandrakant Acharya: ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಜಾಹಿರಾತು, ಆದರೂ ಧನಾತ್ಮಕ ವಿಚಾರ!!!

Yogish: If it is true it is good to know that from 7 lakh to 13000. Very significant number. I didn’t like politicians posing there with milk cup.
I agree Chandrakanth Sir, Those politicians are not spending from their pocket, it’s public money or tax payers money. They have no right to pose in schools with milk cup and advertise. Ok let’s take good out of bad

Yogish: May be we can edit this photo before uploading in to our Facebook page to avoid free advertising to some political parties as we all agree that we are non political ?

Girish Mudigere: If good moral education given to kids….politicians also will become good leaders PM, CM Ministers and they stop posing in advertisements

Lets edit Yogish….keep away persons

Yogish: https://www.google.com/doodle4google/

If kids from your school are good in painting and have innovative ideas, please participate
I am sure 1 or 2 kids from govt school will win the prize from any of the category of we put some effort

Gururaj Paramesha: ‘Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ (14th-24th Apr’16) aims at building social harmony & strengthening Panchayati Raj in villages.

Gururaj Paramesha: Girish sir i was wondering why cant our focus be more towards those govt schools where the enrolment is less.

Girish Mudigere: Excellent Gururaj avare….lets focus on improving admissions

Prasanna: Gvt h p s Hosanagar frst l k g ukg batch . all of them who finished ukg will enroll 1 st std .
If our parents once join the same l k g in pvt schls ,they cant take t c or enroll to gvt schools. This could be one of the remedies for our schools low strength

Girish Mudigere: Lets not force….willingly they should come

Prasanna: Right sir. But the same school’s sdmc President Mr Ashwini kumar struggled a lot with politician s and local pvt schools management to open lkg ukg in this school. This struggle was necessary to him to maintain the enrollment in the midst of 6-7 pvt schools. But this year bcz of achievement parents willingly enroll their children to the school.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: The government school should design unique selling point . the teachers r recruited with so much of care, children r given free food, books etc., and every one knows about value of education , the only thing government schools lack is marketing skills. Government should try to improve their teachers/hm’s marketing skill. Good documentary film about the benefit of education where lower class people understand it. Government school should know how to compete with private. I still remember when private banks entered the market public sector banks were worried but they r ultimate now. Because of great infrastructure

RaviRaj: Yes upadhya chaya…I completely agree

Chaya Chandra Acharya: That is great. Govt school should not feel low about themselves. Lot of people who studied in govt school are great people now. So the government school should project all this in properly designed manner. First do the survey of children in the locality. With the help of local community organise meeting. Spend lot of energy to satisfy customer ( children). Since children r customer who do not know how to get the required satisfactory product from supplier , problem is ..
Prasanna: Definetly right. When I decided to enroll my son to gvt school where my spouse working as teacher ( in charge h m ) I worried much about the scarcity of the teacher. There were only 3 teachers for 1-8 classes. After my son’s admission 5 parents who decided to admit their children pvt schools changed their mind and enrolled gvt school.
Teachers scarcity is main problem in our schools where 8 classes 4-5 teachers,1-5 th single or two teachers.
Chaya Chandra Acharya: I agree with teacher scarcity. In Kendriya vidyalaya they take temporary teachers , of course they pay well to them also. In villages getting teacher is difficult, but at least government can arrange teacher from neighbouring places. In kendriya vidyalaya I have seen commerce teacher was coming on Saturday and Sunday to teach children because no commerce teacher in that school. Government can send teachers on deputations to nearby schools, or hire teachers who r doing Bed , at least for experience they come

Girish Mudigere: Lets try to fill the gaps….Between Government and Schools

Prasanna: This should be done bcz teachers recruitment is being done on the basis of student teacher ratio. If we consider ratio our schools should at gram panchayath levelor at a centre place for many villages. Gvt opening schools in remote (lps within 1.5 kms,hps 3 kms, highschools 5 kms) villages. Then we have to face teachers scarcity.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: I feel that it is a time to think out of box, correct the consequence as and when arises. I have seen school started with 10 children r now 600 children ,, it is because solving the issues in right direction

Prasanna: Where department or gvt cant solve the problem then we have to jump in the field. In my son’s school me as a CRP called sdmc and parents meeting in june conveyed the importance of teachers ,parents agreed to appoint two local qualified teachers honorary , one year ran successfully.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Super prasanna sir, I have seen this kind of support works. If hm and teacher welcome the community resources, u can really do wonders. Still the world contains good, wonderful , non greedy people. Just schools should be open to grab it that’s all

Girish Mudigere: Lets try to work in this area. If HM and teacher and SDMC and Schools if unable to take community help…..lets jump in and connect keeping morality intact

Chaya Chandra Acharya: S sir, it can be done. Only we have list out do’s and don’t to be followed by school in precise manner

This forum should take one good school and one worst school and set a 6th month period to improve and review it and see how it works. Let us concentrate on enrolment and retention. I have seen one teacher going to the home of a child to teach, when the child was not attending school was due to mother health

Girish Mudigere: Excellent input….lets bring plans to action
Lets us list action items and put names in front

Lets encourage the progress by giving moral support too
Since our members are all over the world ….lets try realistic action items and provide solutions to physically working volunteers.

Lets invite name/s of school /s

And names of Volunteer /s
Even one school and one volunteer who can be active on ground and Whatsapp definitely helps to get connected and executed
