Yogish: http://developschools.org/quiz only 2 are added now. It takes more time to add.

Kiran Kumar: Is there a school for children who do not fall in the conventional bracket of the ‘right age for a classroom’ or the ‘correct academic level’? A school for dropouts who want to learn again? A school for child labourers who wish to study? Visit this remote village near Mysuru and you will find a unique school that is super welcoming of those who want to learn. “There is a 12-year-old girl who stays in a slum. She used to go to a government school but had to drop out because her family could not afford her education. She then started working as a child labourer and continued to do so for about two years to help her mother earn a living.

If few artists showcase on improvement of government schools through above….it will help our project

Linnet D Silva: We just had three days children’s camp for tribal children. One need they proposed is to hold science and mathematics coaching during holidays.
I got a idea to help them by granting them tabs with these subjects. Any way to solve this problem. They are Kannada medium. Unable to purchase these gadgets. I can spare a volunteer for them.
They are 8 students. First generation literates.

Siddeshwarnagar, Dharwad near nuggekeri.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: I had an opportunity to visit rishy valley school, near madanapalle. What a school. Very big area. Each and every child maintain s discipline. In the dining hall, children were standing in the queue, serving themselves what they want, eat silently , washed their plate. Not even one teacher was there to monitor. Next each and every teacher came to the class and wished the children a best of luck. In the assembly hall children were gathered to show their musical talent. Every teacher is praising the
Children to sing well and the surprising part was principal was sitting with children and encouraging everyone ,, too good. It shows that with love, affection and caring anything can be done. No tension of exam, no hurry, my son took 3 hours to complete his entrance exam, no hurry is shown by teacher. The interview conducted by principal was too good. The touching part was 12 the standard children were hugging the teachers and crying but teacher were just showing their grief in face.

12th std children. were retiring back home, so they are going to miss their teacher. Children were writing their exams

Kiran Kumar: Rishi Vally is an alternate school and one of the best in india. They have admissions from class 1
It is based on Jiddu Krishnamurthy ‘s philosophy and founded by him.

Raghavendra N: Based on this school studies only government of Karnataka introduced Nali Kali method of teaching and learning.

Kiran Kumar: Not really Raghavendra. Nali Kali was incubated by my partner Anupama Prakash and the resource center in Mysore. She executed it with the German funding.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Girish sir, many people who wrote about rishy valley school is really good and correct. According to my knowledge teacher r not paid so much in rishy valley. What teacher says is strictly followed by teacher and students. Girishji I think teachers should not be allowed be involved in politics. Mind set of teacher should be changed. They should be encouraged and they should encourage children in turn. There should be an democratic environment in school. Children should be encouraged to express their problem in the school

Vijay IBM: Hi anybody is there in group to conduct corporate training on electrical wiring, harnessing, routing in CATIA, trainer should be good command over electrical CATIA, training would be there in coming Tuesday or Wednesday, interested persons kindly contact to me as early as possible, thank you, regards vijayavithal illal

My friend needs above resource …..it might help some of your contract or education in general
He is Northernsoft company’s technical director

Yogish: If you are looking for e forms for all departments including SSLC PUC answer paper evaluation please go to http://www.karunadu.gov.in/e-forms/Pages/all-eforms-main.aspx
Unfortunately the pdf forms available in kannada language shows some garbage characters. Looks like govt staff did not check these forms before uploading. Some of the forms are useless.

Yogish: Looks like no detention policy is little modified. It is good progress. But teachers should make sure to monitor students progress at each level (instead of checking only at 5th, 8th and 10th grade) and give additional teaching if required.
Otherwise it’s going to be huge pressure to students and exam fear at 5th or 8th grade.
Girish Mudigere: Lets take responsibility to support teaching staff and kids

Raghavendra N: Detention policy is needed or not plz give inputs. If yes why? If not why?

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Detention policy is good if child is good in Kannada, social, Hindi or English and knows mathematics knowledge and science,, I mean to say weak in maths and science but knows 6th maths by 8th std student, I think no need of detention, but due to some issues retaining in the same class improves his learning abilities better to follow detention policy, but some children with mental health issues separate education curriculum and policy is feasible.

Girish Mudigere: Chaya Ji good points….lets focus on healthy kids and discuss. My request would be, lets spend more time on available rules instead of spending valuable time on new rules

Lets list top items to work to improve schools and education

I feel we should work on improving admissions, retaining students by taking care of them…..top twos

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Admission will improve if child should run and come to school, he should feel healthy environment in school, whatever the subject he is interested in should be allowed to explore, then only they feel like to come. This is required for private school. Government school I want experience d teacher can explore

Girish Mudigere: Excellent point Chaya Ji applicable for any school

Chaya Chandra Acharya: One thing is very much is sure in my experience is child always think at present, as a teacher we have to deal with them only present tense!! Because they forget what happened yesterday and they do not understand what happens tomorrow. So as a teacher we have to take care of as today’s present generation child. The teacher should know how to take and give respect. We may think of finding the weak and strong areas of children through action research methods

Arshiya Banu: What makes a good teacher??
I believe a great teacher is one who creates a classroom environment that makes their students 1.) ‘curious’, 2.) want to ‘explore’ (‘investigate’) and 3.) allows them to ‘discover’. I think instilling and encouraging these three elements in students makes a great teacher.
Is ‘curiosity’ valued in your classroom? A great teacher creates a classroom environment that makes the students ‘wonder’ about the things they’re teaching? You can tell if they are asking questions. Or are they just ‘consuming’ information?

Kiran Kumar: I feel all are talking about my school.

Prasanna: You’re right sir. As yesterday discussed HM,staff, sdmc of HPS Soppinakeri, the model school of Shikaripur, Shivamogga Dist will start door to door jatha with handbills advertising the facilities and assuring quality education to children . Every year they have been organising summer camp(this year 10th April to 18th April) in summer vacation.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Good points, but very difficult to find one or two characters of the above in teachers, so how to inculcate. I think instead of conducting various tests to select teachers, mind set, passion for teaching is enough. Give good training is enough

Kiran Kumar: All that we need to do is shift the focus from teacher centric to student centric.

Girish Mudigere: Prasanna Sir….I am excited and thrilled by your team initiatives

Kalgudi Naveen: A great teacher inspires, an average teacher explains and a poor teacher complains.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: S, better ask the teachers in the group how they r able to improve their admission and retention of children. What t the various methods , techniques, etc they r trying. Anyway teacher and student relationship is required whether we involve. Teacher centric or student centric

Kiran Kumar: My personal take on many of the admission drives that many schools are doing now needs a major change.
1. The campaigns should stop using the language of “lost” feeling.
2. localized strengths have to be highlighted
3. The process of education in each school needs a brainstorm and a change for better and that has to be accepted by the authorities.
Krishna Prasad: “Retention of students”..what are the root causes for leaving the school?

Kiran Kumar: Sarkaari shaale ulisi is one such slogan that shows that the battle is lost. That should not be the attitude of the campaigns

Prasanna: Its necessary to do all these things to them ( the schools existed in taluk and Dist centers) they have to struggle for existence in midst of many private institution s. We as a group have to help the schools like these.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Prasannaji really well said. But use the positive attitude towards it. I do not how far it is good to use college (govt) going students to help us in admission process

Krishna Prasad: I feel teachers should be empowered when comes to the uplifting of students and teachers should have privilege to attend personality development programmes…may be some corporate help to achieve it

Prasanna: In training I got an opportunity to share my (also core school group’s) views with 50 teachers from 50 schools.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: The main thing is generation gap, children r 6 to 8 years and teacher avg age is 50. So fill the gap college students may be helpful, they may guide teachers how to handle the children better. Because my son has really helped me a lot whenever I get upset with young children

Arshiya Banu: Good discussion

ಅದು ಹುಡುಗಾಟ ಆಗಬಾರದು … in class rooms we not only teaching ..we working children’s brain.with dis trs must know ..brain development.or activating program…..thank you. Sir ..

Krishna Prasad: I agree generally teachers deal with all generations from 1st to 10th so the teacher has challenge to that…and 11th and 12th has to renew every year

Prasanna: Right, generation gap matters a lot. Then we have take the help of psychology, giving what they need.

Krishna Prasad: Here comes the training..may be roleplay game helps..

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Girishji according to me we have to ask or go little further in our discussion about retention . teacher’s should write their achievement step by step so they we can also try it. How they convince parents who r very rigid in sending their children to school

Arshiya Banu:

BEO Balegar: Kiran sir I am very ..happy and I want say thanks…the word”. Sarakari shale ulisi “its good concern ..Sir.today we failed to exhibition …due to only salaries shalegalu soragive…makkalannuu mattu palakarannu shalege seleyalu .vifalawagiwe…sir in Govt school working meritorious Trs ..We not exhibit

Krishna Prasad: What about retaining students and admission

Kiran Kumar: I think many education theories have been burdening the teacher. Teacher has to be important in the system – no doubt about it. But teacher knows all and he/ She disburses knowledge kind of understanding is not valid in the current days. Information is no more a king. It is available at finger tips. So, enabling children is the most required change.

Krishna Prasad: Another good point…leading disciplined execution of task

Kiran Kumar: You are right Baligar sir. But we have to use the strategies to win in the current market situation.
We should not fall behind in projecting government schools as best

Chaya Chandra Acharya: That is the big challenge kiranji, we need to adopt mc Donald marketing achme

Kiran Kumar: If scrap is sold in the market by strategic marketing, I think we should strategies government school marketing too. As these schools have best of the talents.

Chaya Chandra Acharya: Girishji lot of points r discussed today, but we have to create main points and put sub points under it

Krishna Prasad: Definetly let it flow in numbers. Please continue with 6. Later we will compile..

Chaya Chandra Acharya: King of restoration programme in TV sells by beautifying scrapped items because he has complete idea abt it ,, I think best idea

Good team work , I got lot of ideas today, really enjoyed, I think if teachers allow children to express their ideas like this openly , that’s it. Enough

Kiran Kumar: Dear All, I would like to share a good news with you all. Today SP of SHIMOGA district decided to start a pre school for police personnel kids that offers schooling free of cost. He wanted the school to be exactly replica of Open Minds Junior. We have extended our support to establish a pre school and support them free of cost. Soon SHIMOGA will have a preschool with Open Minds Methodologies next to SP’s office.

Girish Mudigere: Kiran ji be prepared for every school 😊

Kiran Kumar: We are ready to support any school that offers free education sir.
